It's not about time management, it’s about priority management

Realising that time is beyond our control and that it is not about time management - It's about managing your priorities. 

 

Here are invaluable tips to elevate your productivity: 

 

Identify Your 20%: Pinpoint the 20% of activities driving 80% of your success. Without this clarity, the 80% of tasks that merely keep you busy may dominate your time. 

 

Strategic Think Time: Allocate moments for strategic thinking to discern the crucial 20%. Without this, you risk reacting instead of proactively shaping your business.  

 

Calendar Commitment: Dedicate at least 5 hours weekly in your calendar to work on your business. Failing to plan this time often leads to it being absorbed by lower-value tasks. 

 

Urgency vs. Importance: Working on the business is vital but seldom urgent. Prioritise it to break the cycle of repeating years and achieving the same outcomes. 

 

Daily Blue Ocean Think Time: Allocate 30 minutes daily for creative 'think' time. Use pen and paper to explore ideas and improvements, setting the tone for a proactive day. 

 

Weekly Goal Planning: Spend 60 minutes weekly setting personal and business goals, then schedule them into your calendar for enhanced effectiveness. 

 

Team Effectiveness Meeting: Invest 30-60 minutes weekly with your team to align priorities. This simple step can double their effectiveness. 

 

Calendar Discipline: If it's not on your calendar, it won't happen. Schedule tasks, commit to them, and eliminate distractions. 

 

Nightly Planning: Plan your next day the night before. This proactive approach sets the stage for a focused and purposeful day. 

 

Time Allocation: Assign specific time frames to tasks to avoid spending excessive time on any single activity. 

 

Prioritise Focus: Concentrate on one task at a time, starting with the highest priority. Move to the next only after completing the current one. 

 

Master Task List: Maintain a consolidated list of tasks, updating it weekly with time frames and priorities. Keep it manageable to prevent overwhelm. 

 

Delegation Mastery: Delegate lower-value tasks to maximise efficiency. Successful entrepreneurs excel at delegation, so assess your business model's strength to afford assistance. 

 

Proactivity over Busyness: Productivity isn't about being busier; it's about proactive and effective time management.
